Cards Are On Their Way \o/

All right everyone, the cards have been made! I have the HTML done and am about to start posting them momentarily. Are you all as excited as I am? :D

But a few things before I start posting. First of all, if you haven't already, now would be a good time to read over the FAQs (aka the rules post).

Now, I tried to keep the descriptions on the prompts short for two reasons: 1. so that they'd fit on the card and 2. so that you'd have room to play with them. However if you get a prompt that you're not sure how to interpret you can check out the brainstorming posts on both LJ and on DW.

If that doesn't work, you can ask here. I'm opening this post us as a resource post. Some of the prompts might fall outside of what you know, you can come here and ask for help and/or offer help to others who need it. If you need help with tech stuff, fic choice, collaboration, etc. come here. :)

Well, how random it is, is up to you, so you have some control over how terrifying? Like, if you want to go for super scary, you could choose the 3rd entry on the 8th Google page when you search "fanfic" or something (FYI: I got this link doing that experiment). Or, for a more controlled experience, you could keep it to your flist or Delicious network/subscription.

Or, you could to something like pick an author, at random, from the Blanket Permission list. :P

Would it be acceptable to pick a fic at random from a rec list? I'm a prose snob, so even flist is a little nerve wracking. Although, circle of delicious might work, being rather reccy anyway. I might do something like '17th entry tagged SGA in kink_bingo or something', that'd be quite nerve-wracking for the random kink, but not as much as random comm where I fear crappy writing.

(To embrace the future random I went with a random icon. I'm so random today. *grin*)

I think randomly choosing something from a recs list would be ok too. The idea is to podfic a surprise fic I still want you to enjoy it. And, lets face it, even if you do pick a fic completely at random, it might not be something you can podfic. Like, my little Google experiment got me an archive, not a specific fic, or maybe the author won't give permission for you to podfic their fic? And I wouldn't hold it against anyone to pick a different fic if the first fic they randomly found was, like, 200K.

(I too, chose a random icon :P)

The google experiment was awesome. Pretty much the worst idea I can think of would be third fic from the recently uploaded on ff.net. And I got This fic. That's pretty much what I want to avoid.

I'll poke at the various ideas for random that I have. I'm aiming for a blackout, so poking has to happen.

(I need more icons which aren't related to my name.)
